Avascular necrosis is one of the debilitating disease in young people of 20 to 45 yrs of age in this fast growing world..it severly affects people’s ability to do routine activities like walking running & cross seating. Avascular necrosis is not easily diagnosed in early stages as radiographs do not show early changes.thats why it became so important to diagnose and treat as early as possible. This book describes in detail about avascular necrosis of femoral head including clinical features .how to diagnose & treat. As it is disease of a young population ,head preserving surgeries should be the 1st aim.we have operated many cases of avascular necrosis of femoral head by Meyers technique of muscle pedicle grafting at our hospital and found that it is sucessful in most cases with preserving and even improving femoral head blood suppy and prevent collapse. Our many pts didnt need replacement for upto 10 15 yrs.So We have came with an idea to share our experiance and procedure of meyers grafting to everyone. As a last bencher we have tried to explain in easy way for understanding to student like us. Hope this book will help you in understanding avascular necrosis of femoral head and to apply in orthopaedic practise.
