Buy It on Amazon

The Procrastinator’s Mind empathizes with procrastinators and seeks to understand the behavior of procrastination within their reality without judging them. The author gets to the core of the psychology of procrastination and provides practices and solutions that are proven to stop procrastination and inspire the journey toward discipline.

The objective of the book is to put oneself into the shoes of a chronic procrastinator and develop the ideas of why it is important to work and not procrastinate. The book goes through the common traps of thinking that procrastinators experience and breaks these myths from the procrastinator’s point of view and builds a path to discipline.

The author takes a more personal and familiar approach that affects the reader’s whole life and sense of self-respect and not just preach more productivity at work. The book delves deeply into and analyses topics such as self-esteem, fear, emotion, thought, assertiveness, identity, and self-efficacy, and the effects of these elements on procrastination.

At its core, the book categorizes three types of fears: fear of self-esteem conflict, fear of effort, and fear of self-efficacy. These three fears in procrastinators drive them away from work in different situations. The book then moves onto how what we think about aspects such as creativity, laziness, emotion management, belief systems, and discipline affects our procrastination with splendid research based understanding.

  • Highly recommend this book. The section on entropy, when to delay gratification and the section on different types of fear is well described and highly relevant to any procrastinator. A short read, but a fantastic comprehensive analysis of the root causes of procrastination.
